2026night crawlingphoenix, az
paintings of running into the darkness, movement, chaos, the year of the horse, traveling into and out of the mind

These paintings started after I ran Javelina Jundred in October 2025. I was inspired by the costumes, music, and party atmosphere. Running 100 miles changes things, I came out different.

2026castles in the skyvarious locations around colorado
castles in the sky is an ongoing project around my experiences mountaineering in colorado. Some paintings are memory maps of routes, others reflect on the psychological drama of resting on exposed cliffs.

On August 4, 2017, I climbed my first 14,000+ foot mountain with my dad and dog. There are 58 such mountains in Colorado, I had little hiking and 0 mountaineering experience, but I knew I wanted to do them all. Slowly, over the last ten years, I’ve bulit up my skills and endurance, climbing more and more difficult mountains. I’ve since climbed 57 14ers and completed 2 of the 4 great traverses. My time spent in the mountains has been some of the best in my life. It has been the closest I’ve come to death, and the most alive I have ever felt. When I paint from my experiences, I am painting my psychological process as well as my physical one.

2025rim to rim to rimgrand canyon, az
Rim to rim to rim is a series of paintings from the ultra classic route of the Grand Canyon. It goes from the South Kaibab trail to the North Rim and back again, for a whopping total of 45 miles and 14,000 feet of elevation gain.

I jumped through portals, flew as high as Icarus, and stood on the edge of complete obliteration. It was easily one of the most transformative runs of my life.

2024a dream in a language i didnt understandcarretera austral, chile
In 2022, I set off on a bikepacking trip in Chile. Known as the Carretera Austral, four friends and I made the seven hundred mile trek from Puerto Montt to El Chalten in Argentina.

I kept a watercolor sketchbook with me that I painted in every day. I recorded what was around me, and then took it back to my studio and made paintings that reflected my inner world as well as my outer one.
2023 and beyondDream work, dioramas, REM cyclesFort Collins, ColoradoThese are older works, from my time falling in love with painting at Colorado State University, and then graduating and my eventual descent into becoming a dirtbag.

During this time, I was making work that explored dreams and the subsonscious.
